What are the Phases of a New Construction Inspection?
Our phased inspection process ensures that every part of your new home build is evaluated for quality and compliance. This helps identify problems early and ensures the finished home is safe, efficient, and up to code.
Pre-Drywall Installation Inspection
Pre-drywall inspections are one of the most critical steps in the construction process. Before the walls are closed, we check major systems and structures to ensure everything is properly installed:
- Electrical and plumbing installations
- Insulation and ventilation systems
- Framing quality — warped, missing, or defective wood
- Exterior electrical and lighting fixtures
- Exterior walls, sheeting, windows, and sealants
- Framing fasteners, connectors, anchor bolts, fire blocking, truss ties
- HVAC rough-ins and duct conditions
Even small issues, such as warped framing or substandard timber, can cause expensive problems later. Identifying them early saves time, stress, and money.
Completed New Construction Home Inspection
Once construction is finished, we conduct a comprehensive final inspection — similar to a traditional home inspection — to ensure your home is move-in ready:
- Plumbing and sewage systems
- Electrical systems
- Roof and attic structure
- Walls, ceilings, and floors
- Doors and windows
- Fireplaces and chimneys
- Porches, decks, driveways, and patios
- Heating and cooling systems
- Water supply and sprinkler systems
- Appliances
If problems are found, the builder has the opportunity to fix them, and we’ll return to confirm repairs have been properly completed.
